Naming of the Oasis of the Seas

On November 30th, took place in Fort Lauderdale, the naming ceremony of the Oasis of the Seas appened by its seven godmothers : Gloria Estefan, Daisy Fuentes, Shawn Johnson, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Michelle Kwan, Jane Seymour et Dara Torres.

With it tonnage of 225.282, the Oasis of the Seas is the biggest cruise ship in the world.

Order of a new ship for Carnival

Carnival has ordered to the shipyard of Fincantieri (Italy) a new ship of the Class "Carnival Dream".

This new 3.690 passengers ship, for a tonnage of 130.000, must be delivered on spring 2012.
To remark that this order is the first one since 20 months.

Celebrity Cruises Celebrates Winter Solstice Revealing Name of Fourth Ship in Solstice Class

Celebrity Cruises revealed on December 21st, the name of the fourth ship of the Solstice Class, it will be the Celebrity Silhouette.
Like its 3 sister-ships (Solstice, Equinox et Eclipse), the Celebrity Silhouette, will have a capacity of 2,850 guests, for a tonnage of 122,000 and a length of 315m.
The Celebrity Solstice set sail in December 2008, the Celebrity Equinox in July 2009. The Celebrity Eclipse will enter service in April 2010 and the Celebrity Silhouette in 2011.

Silversea Launches New Silver Spirit Cruise Ship

The Silversea Silver Spirit, the last new ship of 2009, set sail on her first voyage yesterday in the Mediterranean. The luxury ship is cruising from Barcelona to Lisbon on this maiden voyage, and will be crossing the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale in early January, where she will be officially named on January 21.
